COUNTRY SINGER ON HEALTHCARE: "One Step Closer to Socialism" (Ricky Lee Jackson resides in Pacific Time)
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) took a very political and, for some, condescending posture after Saturday’s midnight-run vote to push the latest ObamaCare bill, HR 3590, to the floor for debate.
“It’s clear by now that my Republican colleagues have no problem talking about healthcare in press conferences or television interviews or town halls,” said Reid. “Yet now that we have actual legislation to debate . . . words on paper and not just wild rumors—will they refuse to debate? . . . My Republican friends, there is nothing to fear in debate . . . it is our job.”
Needless to say, Republicans struggle to find merit in this passive attack, considering that when some middle ground was established in the Max Baucus bill (D-MT), it was Reid who forced socialized medicine back into the mix.
So, with all the wrangling about whether or not it’s good for the nation to turn healthcare over to Washington bureaucrats, what do authorities on this issue outside the Beltway have to say about it?
Conducting a national talk show tour of duty is singing physician, “Ricky the Doctor,” as prominently featured on Fox & Friends last Nov. 22, 2009. Perhaps better known as successful country recording artist Ricky Lee Jackson, this red-blooded American has also been a small business owner and family practice physician for more than 25 years.
Applying his business perspective, Jackson can comment on the bill’s projected $2.5 trillion price tag in its first ten years of full implementation (2014-2023) and the tax burden this will place on small businesses like his, as well as the middle class.
Applying his medical perspective, Jackson fears the worst part of socialized medicine isn’t even about money. As government bureaucrats take over and more doctors like him drop out of the profession, rationing and a decline in healthcare quality are both inevitable.
At one of the most crucial times in recent history for the United States, with legislation on the table poised to completely change the country’s founding principles, don’t miss this opportunity to get the grassroots view from an impassioned source like Ricky Lee Jackson. Note: Building on his grassroots activism and conservative beliefs, Jackson has released a new country single entitled Freedom, Family and Faith, supported by the launch of a new website by the same name: www.FreedomFamilyandFaith.com
ABOUT RICKY LEE JACKSON
There is no one better suited to sing Freedom, Family and Faith than Ricky Lee Jackson. He is a Nashville country music recording artist, having achieved success and chart position with his album The Other Side in the 1990s.
As a political candidate and grassroots activist for conservative principles, he twice ran for Congress in his home state of Washington on a platform of economic growth, individual freedom and responsibility, and limited government.
Known affectionately in his community as the “singing doctor,” Ricky Lee has been a small business owner and family practice physician for more than 25 years. This gives him keen insight into the dangers of socialized medicine and a deep passion for keeping America free and prosperous by proudly standing up for capitalism and individual liberty.
Ricky Lee is also a family man, married more than 30 years to his wife, Jeanine, with three children and a growing list of grandchildren. When Ricky Lee Jackson sings about Freedom, Family and Faith he knows what he's talking about, and he believes most Americans share his belief that what makes America great isn’t our government – it’s our freedom, our families and our faith.
Ricky Lee wrote and recorded this single as: “A song dedicated to the courage, wisdom, and foresight of the Founders of our nation, to those who have given their lives in the defense of liberty, and to all who are sacrificing to promote our unique American heritage of freedom, family, and faith.”
