2012’S DIVINE DROUGHT: Is the Crop-Killing Heat a Sign From God?
With a drought so stubborn, merciless and far-reaching—not to mention, triple-digit hot—Christians and casual Bible experts everywhere can’t help but wonder and worry if this summer is another precursor to end times.
Available for interviews to cast an enlightening perspective on the issue is online Christian media trailblazer, Todd Friel—a fresh, contemporary voice in today’s Biblical discourse.
As a guest on your show, Friel will undoubtedly get your audience’s wheels turning in a direction they haven’t yet considered on this topic, starting the conversation with his thoughts on several fundamental questions:
“People are naturally asking, ‘Is the drought from God?’ Well, of course it is! So, then the question is, ‘Why is He sending a drought?’ This is where the 2-2-2 Principle comes in handy. God is dealing with two different people (lost and saved), in two ways (controlling or allowing) for two different reasons.
The next logical question would be, ‘Is God judging America?’ Maybe. Maybe not. The Bible tells us some things are secrets to God. This would be one of them. And, by the way, it is important to remember that America is not Israel. So, we can’t look at the plagues of the Old Testament to determine if God is judging our entire nation.
And, finally, ‘Is this a part of Bible prophecy?’ Maybe. Most people look at the prophecies of Scripture to determine exactly when Jesus is going to return. I think that is the wrong way to read prophecy. When we read end times signs, they simply serve as reminders that Jesus is returning. ‘I hear a rumor of war…oh, yeah, Jesus is going to return.’ The sign does not tell me when, but it reminds me that He is.”
So, what exactly is the 2-2-2 Principle? How does all this ultimately apply to our individual lives? What does this drought tell us, if anything, about how we should change our perspective, our behavior?
